WHAT'S IN A NAME - NYOBS 22.26

WHAT'S IN A NAME

First Word

Have you ever read in scripture the “begats” – whose kid was whose?
This reading is an absolute desert; I mean dry and boring.  Was this chapter placed in the Bible
just so we could know the family tree of Noah, or was it there for a different reason?
Is there a “Da Vinci Code” buried deep within?  STAY TUNED.

Bible Names
  • All through the Bible, children were given names that had a special meaning to the parent; I will list the duel for children between Leah and Rachel to give a little flavor to this study.

The Da Vinci Code
  • Did you find the code – It’s been simmering in the pot – look back and see – Here it is.
  • Man appointed mortal; Sorrow - God shines forth; shall come down teaching - His death shall bring despairing, lament, comfort, rest and relief. – Is that fun or what.
  • God does not write down stuff for no reason.  If you are into numbers, the Bible is full of it.  If you love astrology, God has it. -  If you are a nature lover, it’s there. -  Do you like solving puzzles and finding secret codes, the Bible is loaded with it.  - If you are just “Plain Vanilla”, it’s there too.
  • The Bible was written in the past for our learning today.  It’s His glory to conceal His treasures from Kings and it’s there glory to search it out.
  • We are more than kings; we are kings and priest and should search the scriptures daily to discover the glory of TRUTH.
  • God is so Good.
Rom 15:4 – Everything is written to teach us
