This Word study looks at the oxymoron Homosexual/Christian

A little Bible background

·         The First English Bible was the Great Bible commissioned by King Henry VIII in 1535. –

·         The Second Bible was called the Bishop’s Bible of 1568. -  The newly crowned King James convened the Hampton Court Conference in 1604. That gathering proposed a new English version in response to the perceived problems of earlier translations as detected by the Puritan faction of the Church of England. They complained that the earlier Versions of the Bible were corrupt and ask for a new translation.

·         The Third Bible dubbed the King James Version Bible was started in 1604 and was finished in 1611, settling on 39 Old Testament books, 15 Apocrypha books and 27 New Testament Books.

·         The KJV translation was done by 47 members of the Church of England, all of which were scholars.  The Old Testament was translated from Hebrew and Aramaic; The New Testament was translated from Greek, and the Apocrypha translated from Greek and Latin. At some point the Apocrypha was omitted from later printings.

·         The translators were permitted to consult from a pre-approved list of other translations: the Tyndale Bible, the Coverdale Bible, Matthew's Bible, the Great Bible, and the Geneva Bible.  – So a lot of input went into the English Version of the King James Bible.

·         The QJV translation was published in 2012 and was based on the 1769 edition of the King James Bible where all homophobic interpretations or references of homosexuality were removed or modified. – I could not find out why the 1769 KJV Bible edition was selected.

·         This Bible projects a Gay Friendly Jesus who winks at sin; this follows on the heels of the Jehovah Witness’ who in 1961 REWROTE THE VERSES in the Bible that they didn’t agree with; publishing the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION. – How about THE BOOK OF MORMON.

Matthew 19:4-5 – God made marriage Male & Female

King James I

·         James succeeded to the Scottish throne at the age of thirteen months, after his mother Mary was compelled to abdicate in his favor.

·         At the age of 13 King James fell in love with his male cousin Esme Stuart who he later appointed to the position of Duke of Lennox. - His close friends called him “Queen James”.

·         Sir Walter Raleigh joked about James’ homosexuality when he said in public; “King Elizabeth” has been succeeded by “Queen James”.

·         You will find in the Biographies of King James I of England, mentioning’s that he was a homosexual having many “courtiers” (a person who is often in attendance at the court of the king) or even more likely that he was bisexual, thus the play on words; the “QUEEN’ James Bible.  –

·         He is praised for his living an openly GAY relationship. – King James later married Anne of Denmark and they had seven live children as well as suffering two stillbirths and at least three other miscarriages. - Many dispute all of this; so you can look it up for yourself, but you won’t.

The Queen James Version

·         The QJB states it was written by God with Jesus as a contributor. – No publisher is identified nor any of the editors. – It was written and edited to resolve interpretive ambiguity and prevent homophobic misinterpretation in the Bible as it pertains to homosexuality.

·         The writers state that there was absolutely no condemnation of homosexuality in the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament until the 1946 Revised Standard Version of the Bible came out which contained faulty interpretations of EIGHT VERSES, specifically using the term “Homosexual”.

·         Note: The first known USE of the word “Homosexual” in the English language did not occur until 1892, which is why it was not found. – Scripture is pretty clear; - Leviticus 18:22 - “Thou shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination”. – It just took a while to GIVE IT A NAME other than ABOMINATION.

·         Thayer’s Greek Lexicon - Homosexual; one who lies with a male as a female.

First Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV - The words “to know them” means to have sexual intercourse with them. – We find this very clear when Adam KNEW Eve and she conceived and bare him a son.

·         QJV - Male on Male rape is not considered sex, but is an expression of dominance and power, the men of the city just wanted to bully, rape and humiliate the strangers to express their dominance and power.

(KJV) Genesis 4:1 – Adam sexual intercourse - Eve conceived
¹ And Adam KNEW Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

(QJV) Genesis 19:5 – Rape & Humiliation – Dominance & Power

Second Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV – LGBT - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender sex is an abomination to God. –

·         QJV – Adds the words; IN HE TEMPLE OF MOLECH is an abomination. -This is not actually a translation, but rather an interpolation which is the rewriting of God’s Word.

·         Abomination (to’evah) is a religious term reserved for use against idolatry and refers to temple prostitution; specifically lying with the Male temple prostitutes of Molech.

·         With today’s moral standards the word “Abomination” is a horribly outdated moral code which today, takes on the meaning of “ritually unclean”, “taboo” or perhaps just “scandalous”.

(KJV) Leviticus 18:22 – No LGBT sex – It’s an abomination
²² Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

(QJV) Leviticus 18:22 – No LGBT sex in the temple of Molech

Third Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV – To “lie with” means to have sexual relations. – Since the Messiah, Jesus Christ has come, we are no longer under the OT theocratic law, so we do NOT execute homosexuals.

·         QJV – To “lie with” means simply to be prone and go to sleep. – IN THE TEMPLE OF MOLECH was added – So a man can have sex with another man as long as it’s not in the Temple of Molech.

(KJV) Genesis 39:12 – Lie with me – Have sex with me
¹² And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

(KJV) Leviticus 20:13 – Man lie with Man - Abomination

Fourth & Fifth Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV – LUST (LGBT sex) – UNSEEMLY (unthinkable) – THEM (the LGBT abusers)

·         QJV - RITUAL LUST, (Women Pagan dancing) – PAGAN AND UNSEEMLY – (Men Worshiping pagan idols – IDOLATERS (those that worship idols) – Notice that the words and sentences have been rearranged in 26 and 27..

(KJV) Romans 1:26-27-  Lust – Unseemly – Them

²⁶ For this cause God gave THEM up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
²⁷ And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their LUST one toward another; men with men working that which is UNSEEMLY, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

(QJV) Romans 1:26-27- Ritual Lust - Pagan & unseemly - Idolaters

Sixth Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV – ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES with mankind – Homosexual; One who lies with a male as a female. – Effeminate; a soft womanly man.

·         QJV – PROMISCUOUS; a male with many beds – The words “with mankind” is deleted – Effeminate means; morally weak.

Eighth Homophobic Misinterpretation  

·         KJV - Strange Flesh is men having sex with men; women having sex with women.

·         QJV – Non-human Flesh such as Angelic flesh; having sex with Angels.  The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were never connected with homosexuality in the Hebrew and Greek scriptures.

·         Note: Based on the QJV thinking, God rained down fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah because of their lack of hospitality, not because their LGBT community LUSTED after un-natural sexual intercourse, or to say it another way SODOMY.

(KJV) Jude 1:7 – Strange - Men with Men – Women with Women

David and Jonathan LGBT

·         I feel a need to speak to the issue of the relationship of Jonathan the King’s son and David.  - I certainly know the LGBT community uses this scripture. - When I first read the scriptures with Jonathan taking off his clothes and giving them to David because he loved him sure sounded like the both of them were in a homosexual relationship.

·         What I found out was that this was a custom, tradition and a ceremony that took place when two people cut a COVENANT with each other.  The stronger gave his clothes and assets to the weaker as a symbol of; “What I have is yours, and what you have is mine”. – We have become one and the same, your enemies are now my enemies, and my friends are now your friends. - NYOBS 05.34 – BLOOD COVENANT

·         I had a childhood friend named Paul that I went through Elementary and High School with. - We played on the playground, did our homework together, double dated, spent the night with and cried with when he went into military service.  - I loved him very much, but it never occurred to me to have a physical relationship with him.

• The Bible shows that there is a love between two men that is approved by God.  It is a love of the spirit of the other and not a physical sexual love. – NYOBS 02.02 – HOMOSEXUALITY

Last Thoughts

·         There is something called THE EMERGING CHURCH or EMERGENT CHURCH which embraces and pushes for acceptance of the LGBT community, stating that homosexuality is a viable option for the regenerated Christian. – This is the blurring of doctrinal lines as found in the Bible. – Sin is no longer Black; it’s 50 shades of gray.

·         Time to learn a new word; “eisegesis” which means; the interpretation of a text by reading into it one’s own ideas.

·         An anonymous group of Editors of the QJV Bible throws doubt on what God has said … "INDEED, HAS GOD SAID?

·         The QJV Bible does not seek to “resolve interpretive ambiguity”, its mission is to twist, manipulate and otherwise rewrite scripture to justify their lifestyle. The writers did not like to retain God in their knowledge, so GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.

·         God said; “you shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

·         God said; “If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book”.

·         God said; ”Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar

·         God said; “If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life”. – The QJV writers say that this verse only applies to the Book of Revelation which they did not change.

·         God said; “Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”.

·         God said; “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

How should a Christian react when someone from the LGBT community is in need?

First Word

·         Before we begin, I need to set forth two requirements of a Christian:

1     Love one another as Christ loved you – Love, be merciful as God has been Merciful to you. Jesus was down on Sin, but He was not down on the Sinner.

2      Defend what the Bible says – Don’t Judge – Inform with LOVE. – Stand firm -

·         As someone who spends a lot of time in the Bible, I can pretty much see “God’s Will” on many controversial subjects which when it’s mentioned, I become portrayed as a NARROW-MINDED BIGOT, an IDIOT and a HYPOCRITE spewing out HATE SPEECH.

·         I have a number of relatives in my extended family who have been in the LGBT community for some forty plus years. – I have CLOSE gay friends who are sexually active; and we all know where each other stands, and with that being said; we are still FRIENDS FOREVER.

·         When a Gay Co-worker’s apartment burned down, he lost everything and I gave him $100 for some clothes.  Word got around and I was asked why I was enabling a GAY man. – I told them I was helping with his needs not enabling or endorsing his lifestyle. – I was led to do the same thing for a young Lesbian co-worker who was about to be evicted. – When God places a burden on your heart to give to someone; what they do with the money is not your responsibility.  - Our responsibility is to respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

·         As a Human Resource Manager I was taught that when a conversation broke out in the break room that began to vilify, insult, name call and other wise persecute an individual; I was required to SPEAK UP; denounce the behavior and PHYSICALLY LEAVE the room.  - My actions proved to those present, that I did not condone their behavior and was NOT PART of it. – Oddly enough, this is right out of the Bible. – If you are silent on hate speech, bigotry, bulling and sexual innuendos, you become part of it. – SILENCE IS APPROVAL -

John 13:34 – Love one another

Background

·         LGBT roots began in the Gay community in the mid to late 1980’s and became a self-designation initialism that stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. - To that some add a “Q” for those that identify as Queer, others add “I” for Intersex – Then there is “U” for Unsure and “C” for Curious, “T” for Transvestite, “TS” or “2” for Two Sprit”, “SA” for Straight Allies, “P” for Polyamorous, “H” for HIV-affected and “O” for Other.

·         QUILTBAG is Queer & Questioning, Intersex, Lesbian, Transgender & Two-Spirit, Bisexual, Asexual & Ally, Gay & Genderqueer. – SGL is Same Gender Loving – MSM is Men who have Sex with Men.

·         FABGLITTER and LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM are more and I think you get the point. – So the term LGBT has “sort of” encompassed the diverse community that share the same issues, values and goals.

The LGBT Parable

·         When the people of Israel were exiled to other lands, the very old, poor and diseased Jews were left in Samaria to till the land; to that was added foreigners by the king. – They intermarried and became a half breed of Jews & Whatever; that were for the most part heretics in religion. - They became despised by the “Pure” Jews who considered them as unclean, low down, scumbag, despicable people; even avoiding passing through their city.

·         The Samaritans hated the Jews because the Jew’s hated the Samaritans and treated them so badly. So there you have it; nobody liked nobody.

·         Let’s take a look at the Parable of the Good Republican and the Democrat or the Good Presbyterian and the Baptist; or the Good Black man and the White man or perhaps even better; the Christian and the Gay man.

·         What happens in the Story was not about their differences, it was about need.  Although Politically and Spiritually they were not on the same page, one stopped and helped the other who was in destress and could have died. -  This action took of his time and of his substance and that’s what the story is about.  - When someone is hurting, it’s the Christians responsibility to pour out love and compassion and make an effort to give resources and relief in the time of need whether it’s convenient or not. – Helping is not enabling or condoning their lifestyle, it is assisting another person that is made in the image of God.

·         It was a given that each person knew the other’s political and spiritual position which was quite irrelevant during this time of need. – Our actions are a SERMON to someone.  While we don’t have to preach at every turn in the road, we should be ready if it presents itself.

Luke 10:29-37 – Parable – The LGBT person and the Christian
²⁹  But he, desiring to be POLITICALLY CORRECT, said to Jesus, “And who is GOOD PERSON?”
³⁰  Jesus told a story; “A GAY man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among some MUSLIM REDNECK BIGOTS, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.
³¹ Now by chance a DEMOCRAT was going down that road, and when he saw the GAY man he passed by on the other side.
³² So likewise a REPUBLICAN, when he came to the place and saw the GAY man, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a CHRISTIAN, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw the GAY man, he had compassion.

³⁴ He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
³⁵ And the next day he took out SOME MONEY and gave it to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’
³⁶ Jesus asked which of these three, do you think, proved to be a GOOD PERSON to the GAY MAN who fell among the BIGOTS?”
³⁷ He said, “THE ONE WHO SHOWED HIM MERCY.” And Jesus said to him, “GO, and DO LIKEWISE.”

The LGBT Woman

·         When an adulterous woman was brought before Jesus, the mob was hoping Jesus would pick up some stones and KILL HER… Everybody knew each other’s political and spiritual positions which Jesus completely ignored.

·         Jesus showed COMPASSION. – Showing compassion does not condone, endorse nor enable someone’s lifestyle. – Compassion overcomes EVIL with GOOD.

·         Note: Before the woman left, Jesus informing her said “Go and SIN no more”. - Please get this; informing her was not condemning her; we are called to Inform with Love.

John 8:4-11 – Jesus did not condemn, but said SIN NO MORE
⁴ they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.
⁵ Now in the Law Moses commanded us to STONE SUCH WOMEN. So what do you say?”
⁶ This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground.

Misunderstood

·         As a Christian our concern for those in the LGBT community is misunderstood.  We are mandated to take a stand on issues, (not a soap box) that conflict with the Bible.  - We are just agreeing with what God has already said. - When we inform someone of what God has said in His Word, it is with deep concern for their soul. - NYOBS 04.02 - BEATTITUDES

·         In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus gives SEVEN characteristics of a Christian.  The fourth one is ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted’.

• Mourning is an acknowledgement of our own sins with a broken heart before God.   It is too deep to conceal. - We weep over perishing souls. – We anguish over sin. – We want right to prevail. – This is Godly sorrow with compassion for injustice, afflictions and sins of others. 

Matt 5:1-4 – The sermon on the Mountain

4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Ps 119:136 – Mourning for sin

136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is NOT obeyed. NIV

Isa 6:5 – Recognizing who I am before God

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: KJV

Luke 16:25 – You will be comforted

25 "But Abraham replied, `Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. NIV

Isa 61:3 – Mourning replaced with gladness.

3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness  instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. NIV

Where does being Politically Correct End?

·         Our Mandate from God is to multiply and replenish the earth.  Two men or Two women cannot do that. – NYOBS 27.09 - MARRIAGE -- NYOBS – 05.34 - BLOOD COVENANT

·         The United States Supreme Court has re-defined marriage and said that Same Sex Marriage is Lawful in America. – The Supreme Court ignored God’s righteous decree; that those who practice LGBT deserve to die, and gave their approval to those who practice it.

·         But what about marriage rights of the pedophile and the child; a Father with his Daughter, a Mother and her Son, where does this logic end. – The US Supreme Court has made marriage to become meaningless.

·         Marriage is a blood covenant between a Man, a Woman and GOD.

Genesis 9:7 - Be fruitful and multiply
⁷ And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.” (ESV)

Romans 1:32 – The Supreme Court approves those LGBT practice
³² Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. (ESV)

Mal 2:14 – The Lord is in covenant with you and your wife.

Last LGBT Thoughts

·         You ask, why is the LGBT sin any worse than my sin?  It’s not, but I am trying to not walk in sin and YOU ARE NOT and that’s what is heart breaking.

·         When you read God’s Word; it brings sorrow in your spirit for those who are perishing and DON’T EVEN KNOW IT. - NYOBS 18.05 – SAME SEX MARRIAGE

·         The Bible has four compelling scriptures that tell us the Will of God concerning the LGBT community.

1      The Law is laid down clearly for those that practice LGBT and accept it as normal.

2      Two men or two women having sex is an abomination to God and worthy of death.

3      God will abandon you to your own will and give you what you want. – You will NOT be able to see the error of your ways.

4      You will NOT inherit the Kingdom of Heaven and You WILL spend eternity in HELL.

·         Many in the LGBT community claim to be Christians and profess a love for God, but they are just Make-Believers.  You cannot CONTINUE to walk in the fire of known sin and not get burned. – As I extend my friendship to those who may be confused about their sexuality, I must at the same time be honest with them about what the Bible teaches.

·         The decisions made on this side of life have eternal consequences – Life is Choice Driven. – NYOBS 02.02 – HOMOSEXUALITY

1 Timothy 1:9-11 – Law laid down for those who Practice LGBT
⁹ understanding this, that THE LAW is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,
¹⁰ the sexually immoral, men who practice HOMOSEXUALITY, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
¹¹ in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. (ESV)

Leviticus 18:22 - Two men having SEX is an abomination to God
²² You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. (ESV)

Leviticus 20:13 – They should be put to DEATH
¹³  If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Romans 1:18-32 – God gave LGBT what they wanted
¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
¹⁹ For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
²⁰ For His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
²¹  or although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
²² Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
²⁴ Therefore God GAVE THEM UP in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
²⁵  because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
