 SECRET SEVENS

Seven is the Biblical number for completeness and is found throughout scripture.
It originates with the completeness of the creation of earth in seven days.

First Word

  • The book of 1st John unravels SEVEN lists of SEVEN – As we proceed you will see that ALL scripture is God breathed from the first book of Genesis to the last book of Revelation
  1. Seven Reasons the Epistle was written

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness - 2 Tim 3:16

1) Epistle written
  • There are SEVEN reasons the Epistles of 1st John were written.
  1. We write to make our joy complete
  2. Written so you will not sin
  3. Writing the new command – Love your brother
  4. Written to Fathers, Children and Young Men - To know that your sins have been forgiven.
  5. That we will have confidence in walking in His will and that He hears our prayers.
  6. So we can have truth and understanding of the True God and His Son Jesus Christ.
  7. Writing about those who would lead you astray.

12 I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, dear children, because you have known the Father.
14 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. NIV
1 John 2:12 – Your sins have been forgiven
12 I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
NIV
1 John 5:13-14 – Confidence – He hears us

21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.  NIV
1 John 4:2-3 – Test the spirits.
2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. NIV
1 John 4:6 – Do you listen to Gods teachers.
6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.  NIV
1 John 3:13 – Does the world hate you
13 Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. NIV

  • There are SEVEN contrasts.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. NIV
1 John 2:17 – The world will pass away – God’s will lives forever
17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 3:2 – What we will be is unknown – we shall be like Him

4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. NIV

1 John 2:19 – Desire – Those that remain belong to Christ
19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.  NIV

14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. NIV
1 John 2:3-6 – Conduct - Obeys His Word – Walks as Jesus did
3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.  NIV

17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? NIV

19 We love because he first loved us.
20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.  NIV
1 John 3:11-16 – Commandment – We should love one another

18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. NIV
1 John 3:19-20 – Does your heart commend you or condemn you?

20 whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. NIV
1 John 3:23 – Believe in Jesus and Love one another
23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us NIV

SEVEN DAY SYMBOLIC NUMBERS – RABBIT TRAIL
The Bible says that, to the Lord a day is like a thousand years …. So …

A)     The earth was created in six days and then God rested on the seventh day.  Well, if a day is a thousand years, then the six days would be 6000 years of church history and His Sabbath “rest” of one day would be during the 1,000 year reign.  That time is now.
B)      From the Garden of Eden to Abraham was 2000 years. That would be two days.
From Abraham to Jesus Christ was 2000 years… That’s two more days.
From Jesus Christ until now has been 2000 years - That’s two more days – a total of six
days. The future millennial reign that comes on the heels of the rapture and tribulation
period is 1000 years long…. That’s one more day … That’s a total of Seven days.  It’s Time !
C)      There were 2000 years before the Law (two days); 2000 years under the law (two more days); then 2000 years under the Messiah (two more days).  We are now living in the age just prior to His return and the 1,000 year reign (The seventh and last day.)
D)     Christ died 2000 years ago - That’s just two days ago - On the third day, He arose.  The millennial reign is the third day.
E)      So, it seems like it’s time for the rapture.  We are sitting right on the fence. -  Christ can return and rapture His Church NOW.  Nothing else has to happen before His return in the air.   Not making a decision to accept Christ in your life is a decision to reject Him.

Ps 90:4 – A thousand years are like a day to the Lord
4 For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
2 Peter 3:8 – A day is like a thousand years to the Lord
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. NIV
1 Thess 5:1-2 – The day is coming and it will be a surprise
1 Brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,
