SECOND COMING - NYOBS 25.21

SECOND COMING
THIS IS NOT THE HAPPY CLAPPY RAPTURE - THIS IS ARMAGEDDON - NUCLEAR WAR

First Word

Most of the emphasis on the second advent of Christ is based on the first part of His coming
which we call the Rapture. – The Rapture is when Christ comes in the sky FOR His saints.
This study jumps right to the second part where He comes down to the earth WITH His saints.

Setting the Stage
  • We have always known that no one knows when Christ’s second coming will be.  We know things will be going along normal and Christ’s return will be a total surprise.
  • We have always had wars, famine and earthquakes, but when we start to have more of them and closer together, we are at the beginnings of the Second Advent of Christ.
  • The beginning of the end is when the Anti-Christ is released on a white horse to deceive and to conquer.  He is the first of The Four Horsemen of the ApocalypseNYOBS 7
  • There will be an apostasy; a great falling away from God that occurs during the tribulation period between the Rapture and the second coming of Christ – The reason that the apostasy is so great is that the Church with all the Saints and the Holy Spirit are all gone from the earth.  There is no remaining restraining force!
Matt 24:36-39 – No one knows when Christ will return
36 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. NIV
Matt 24:6-8 – Wars, famine, earthquakes are the beginning
6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. NIV
Rev 6:1-2 – Anti-Christ is released to deceive and conquer
1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!"
2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. NIV
Many Saved
  • The SEVEN years tribulation begins; there is disturbing wonders and darkness in the heavens and frightening signs of blood, fire and smoke happening in the earth, and with the disappearance of millions of people; those remaining are shaken to their bones.
  • God sends 144,000 Evangelists to the remaining tribulation people to explain what has just happened and to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
  • Tribulation Saints - Many will repent and call upon the name of the Lord and He will hear them and they will be saved. - God will once again pour out His Spirit and some will prophesy and have visions and dreams.
Rev 7:3-4 – God sends out 144,000 evangelists to preach
3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."
4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. NIV
Acts 2:17-21 – Multitudes saved during the Tribulations
17 "`In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
NIV
Rev 7:13-14 – Many Tribulation Saints will be saved
13 Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes-who are they, and where did they come from?"
14 I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb NIV

Satan gets on the defensive
  • Satan gets hacked off that the 144,000 Evangelist have gotten many of the tribulation people saved and he takes off to make war against them.
  • Satan hardens the heart of the rest of mankind that did not repent and they become worse and involved in demon activity; thefts, murder, magic arts and sexual immorality.
  • During the first 3 ½ years of the tribulation, multitudes of the new believers will be killed and beheaded by these hardened people.
Rev 12:17 – Satan makes war with the Tribulation Saints
17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring - those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. NIV
Rev 20:4 - Tribulation Saints beheaded
4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 9:20-21 – The rest of mankind; murders, sexual immorality
20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood-idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. NIV

The Day of the Lord
  • NOTE; God is in control.  – The raptured believers are long gone from the earth and it is God that gathers the remaining evil nations of the world to come together against Jerusalem so He can show His glory.
  • Twilight - This will be a special day; “The Day of the Lord” – Unique because it will be something like twilight; not morning, not night; when night comes it will not get dark.
  • Then it starts – All the nations gather to fight against Jerusalem – There is an earthquake; the city is split into three parts; seven thousand people are killed – The city is captured - The houses looted – The women raped – and Half of the city goes into exile.
  • There is great distress unequaled from the beginning of the world.
Zech 14:6-7 – Twilight

7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime-a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light. NIV
Joel 3:2 – God will gather the nations and judge them

17 Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house.
18 Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak.
20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now-and never to be equaled again. NIV
Rev 16:18-19 – Jerusalem is split into three parts
18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.
19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. NIV
Ezek 38:11-12 – Israel is invaded
11 You will say, "I will invade a land of un-walled villages; (Israel) I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people-all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.
12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land NIV
Zech 14:1-2 – Jerusalem captured – Houses ransacked - Rape
1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you.
2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
Rev 11:13 – 7,000 people killed.
13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. NIV
Matt 24:21 – There will be great distress
21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now-and never to be equaled again.  NIV
Two Battles
  • NOTE: There are actually two battles or wars that are to take place on the Hill of Megiddo; or I could say there is just one battle, but in two phases; it starts, then is put on hold for 1,000 years and then picks up again for the final conclusion.
  • The first battle aided by Russia is between the Muslims and Jews and last for about 3 ½ years and is about land; about Jerusalem.  Christ returns near the end of this battle after Jerusalem has been destroyed.  He will restore it.
  • The second and final battle is between Satan and Jesus Christ and lasts for less than one day.  This battle is about souls.   We will not cover this battle here.  See NYOBS 22 Armageddon
Ezek 38:15-16 – Mighty Armies from the Far North -
15 You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army.
16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, I will bring you against my land, NIV
Ezek 38:2-5 – Russia is linked with Islam
2 "Son of man, set your face against Gog (Russia), of the land of Magog the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him
3 and say: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog (Russia), chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army-your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords.
5 Persia, Cush (Ethiopia) and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah NIV

When – Second Advent
  • Here’s where we are - Half way into the seven year tribulation period the Antichrist goes into the temple and erects an image of himself known as the abomination of desolation  - 3 ½ years after that,  the tribulations period is about to end; Armageddon has already begun -  Jerusalem is surrounded by armies and half the city is already taken.  – SUDDENLY without warning, Jesus returns and destruction begins; this event ends the tribulation period.
  • Jesus is NOT coming back as a suffering servant riding on a donkey, He is coming back with His army as a conquer on a white stallion in vengeance and in wrath.
  • The final and great sign of the return of Christ will be an AUDABLE trumpet blast and Christ VISIBLY appears in majestic “clouds” of glory, riding on a white horse. He is wearing many crowns and His white robe has been dipped in blood. – EVERYBODY WILL SEE THIS !
  • He will be seen in a blazing fire everywhere all at once as lightning is seen from the East to the West. – THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF
  • He will be surrounded by; (A) innumerable angels(B) His saints of old; (C) those previously raptured; (D) the resurrected righteous from the tribulation period; (E) and the armies of heaven that follow Him. – WOW – WHAT AN ENTRANCE !
  • An EARTHQUAKE takes place when Christ’s feet touches the Mount of Olives which splits in half and is displaced along with other mountains and hills.
  • As the mountain splits, it creates a valley for half of them to escape toward the Dead Sea.
  • While this frightening earthquake shakes the nation of Israel; God promises that His love for them will not be shaken, nor His covenant of Peace.
  • Then Christ swings his sickle over the earth, and the earth is harvested and the unjust are thrown into the winepress of God’s wrath.

The Battle for Jerusalem
  • The Kings take counsel among themselves against God’s anointed and God just laughs at them and sets them in derision and vexes them.
  • The nature of forces unleashed on the armies sounds much like that of a NUCLEAR BOMB which produces an earthquake that swallows up masses of the enemy; fire and brimstone rain down; the radiation melts the flesh off their bodies; confusion abounds and the armies start killing off each other.
  • Only one sixth of the Russian army survives – It’s all over except burring the dead.
  • The Lord seizes Satan and throws him into the Abyss for 1,000 years
  • This starts the millennium reign of Christ. – God calls and holds out his hands one last time.
Ps 2:1-5 - They make plans for destruction and God Laughs.
1 Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. NIV

1 "I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, `Here am I, here am I.'
2 All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations--
3 a people who continually provoke me to my very face,
5 who say, `Keep away; don't come near me,
12 I will destine you for the sword, and you will all bend down for the slaughter; for I called but you did not answer, I spoke but you did not listen. You did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me."
Rev 20:15 – The earth is purged of all possibility of rebellion
15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Rev 21:5 – Makes all things new
5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"
Rev 21:3 – God will dwell with men and they will be His people

The Millennium Begins
  • The Millennium is a transition period that is somewhat like how the earth had been in the Garden of Eden and the coming new earth and eternity.  Better than it was, but not as good as its going to be. – Christ purges the earth – gives the earth to God – Then receives it back.
  • Christ rules from “the throne of David” with the Saints for a thousand years
  • Those born during the 1,000 years will have borne witness to the love and peace of God.
  • Many embraced God because it is politically correct, but they have no relationship.
  • This proves mans heart is inherently evil and is doomed without the Holy Spirit’s drawing
  • Many succumb and follow Satan when he is released from the abyss after the 1,000 years.
Luke 1:32-33 – God will give the throne of David to Jesus
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."  NIV
Isa 9:6-7 – Christ takes the throne of David over Israel
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. NIV
Two Nations
  • What is so often missed is in the end God will unite ALL Israel; the Northern and Southern kingdoms of Israel into one Nation.
Ezek 36:24-28 – God will gather his people from the nations
24 "`For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
28 You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God. NIV
Hos 3:5 – Israel will return to God in the last days
5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days. NIV
Ezek 37:16-22 – God will unite the two kingdoms into one.
16 "Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, `Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.' Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, `Ephraim's stick, belonging to Joseph and all the house of Israel associated with him.'
17 Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
21 I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back to their own land.
22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.  NIV
ALL Israel
  • LISTEN: Today the nation of Israel has not accepted Jesus as the Messiah and is basically a nation of a religion of humanism, a religion of “works”, BUT in the end, a remnant will accept Christ.
  • The Vine is Jesus Christ and the branches are Jewish Israel - When you as a Gentile are grafted into the vine, you become part of Jewish Israel.  Your roots become Jewish.
  • All Israel is therefore; the natural branches of the vine; (A) the believing Jews – Plus the un-natural wild branches that were grated in; (B) the Gentiles – Plus the broken off branches that were grafted back into the vine; (C) the returning believing Jews.
  • SO, when you see ALL ISRAEL spoken of, it includes all believers.  We are “All Israel”.
  • There will be remnants of Jewish Believers from ALL ages that finally make up the whole saved Nation of Israel, plus the GENTILES that have been grafted into the vine.  Thus as prophesized; “ALL the believers” in Israel will be saved.
Rom 11:25-26 – All Israel is us too.
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
26 And so ALL Israel will be saved, as it is written: NIV
Rom 11:17 – Gentiles are part of All Israel
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
John 10:16 – We are part of the Shepard’s fold
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. KJV
Eph 3:3-6 – The mystery of the Gentiles
3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly.
4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets.
6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. NIV

WHY?
You might just ask the question, “Why is God going to all this trouble,
Why didn’t He just trash the earth in the very beginning”?
The answer is not about what’s going on earth, but what’s going on in heaven.
For millions of years, all the remaining principalities, powers and Angels
have been witness to the patience and love of God as He waits for Satan to repent.
With all the time that was given to Satan it has shown that he has no power
to CREATE; only to CORRUPT.
When Armageddon finishes, none will doubt that God is God and there is no other.
There will never ever be another rebellion in heaven,
and the story of Satan and Adam and Jesus will be told and retold.
God’s word will not return to Him empty,
but will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent.
God now has a chosen people, a royal priesthood and a holy nation.

Isa 55:11 – God’s word will not return to Him empty.
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
NIV
1 Peter 2:9 – A chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. NIV
