IF THEN PROMISES - NYOBS 56.02

IF THEN PROMISES
Believing in the promises is the only way that we can receive them. – We must still believe
even though in our eyes the promises have been delayed.  Hebrews 6:15
First Word

·         There are two kinds of promises for THE BELIEVER. - NYOBS 36.22 - PROMISES
1.     Absolute Promise – Unconditional – This is a “naked agreement”, one that does not require something on the behalf of the recipient in exchange. – There is NO “quid pro quo”.
2.     Conditional Promise – A promise that cannot be obtained until certain condition have been met. -  These promises contains some “IF and THEN” Clauses.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – Conditional Promise – I will forgive your sins
14 IF my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin. (ASV)

Matthew 6:2-6 – Be rewarded openly NOW
2 therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (NKJV)
Matthew 6:25-33 - Provide Food, Drink and Clothes
25 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But SEEK FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (NKJV)
